The Alaska Safari Camp operates mid-July through September on the Pacific coast of the Alaskan peninsula. This pristine wilderness area offers spectacular scenery with great opportunity for fishing and viewing nature - wildflowers, waterfalls, brown bear, moose, caribou, fox, otters, eagles and a multitude of sea birds.
The camp is located in a sheltered estuary bay with three productive fishing streams. Outstanding fishing is available literally five minutes from camp. This unique, shallow bay offers the special opportunity to sight cast for salmon on the flats as tides rise and fall, and to catch salmon on topwater. Other superb streams and estuaries outside the bay are accessed via helicopter.
In late July through mid-August, chrome-bright pink and chum salmon charge up the rivers followed by acrobatic arctic char and sea-run dolly varden. In min-August, the silver salmon arrive and add their exhilarating runs and aerial displays to the mix. Catches of 30 to 40 fish per day are common. We absolutely offer the best sea-bright salmon fishing in the world with no competition from other lodges or fishermen.
Guests stay in roomy double-occupancy weatherport shelters with beds, reading lights, chairs and gear storage. Complimentary cocktails and excellent meals with wine are served in the spacious dining shelter. A shower shelter with ample hot water and a wader/equipment shelter complement this deluxe safari camp.
