Picture a remote setting in one of the world's richest marine environments, where the fishing has to be experienced to be believed. Now imagine this setting engulfed in the smell of fresh sea air and the sounds of birds calling and waves lapping the shoreline. Just three hours from Houston, 2 1/2 hours from San Antonio and a quick 45-minute drive from Corpus Christi International Airport, Redfish Lodge is easily accessible for a weekend or mid-week stay.
This wonderful lodge leaves nothing to the imagination. It was one of the first lodges to explore the options of saltwater sport fishing on the Texas Coast. As a result they have incomparable knowledge of the fishing areas and techniques required to maintain the status of a world-class fishing resort.
The Texas coast is blessed with a vast and abundant fishery that includes primary game fish such as redfish, speckled trout, flounder and black drum. The Rockport area is particularly unique because it represents the intersection of vast grassy flats, deep bays and live oyster reefs. This makes the area around Redfish Lodge particularly productive.
Redfish Lodge has a full staff of its own experienced professional guides. Because of their knowledge, they will plan your fishing trip to suit your needs, whether it is wading the back lakes and fly casting to tailing fish or throwing topwater lures for trophy specks. The fleet consists of modern, comfortable and reliable customized boats that range in size from 19 to 24 feet.
The 540-foot lighted pier and 200 yards of lighted beachfront provide the opportunity to fish 24 hours a day. Bring your own tackle or use tackle provided by the lodge, the best equipment in the industry with G. Loomis rods and Shimano reels for the best light tackle fishing available. The combination of the best tackle, boats, motors, guides and fishery is a sure recipe for success.
"More than just great fishing" is both their motto and way of life at Redfish Lodge. Even in the most abundant waters in the world, there are times when Mother Nature prevents you from fishing or keeps the fish from biting. It is at these times when good fishing lodges are separated from great ones. The great lodges have great staff.
All staff members are trained to anticipate guests' needs. Guides will provide a fantastic day on the water. But that will only be a small part of the experience. Guests can be assured peace and privacy, yet a staff member will be nearby day or night to fulfill any request. From the chef to the housekeeper, the staff will provide gracious and exceptional service that exceeds guests' expectations.
This is primarily a fishing lodge but the surprise is the abundance of quiet and solitude, perfect for pure relaxation. With wrap-around porches, pool and beach, a peaceful spot can always be found.
For those who want an active vacation, there are lots of recreational activities available at the lodge. Fishing, of course, but the other options are endless. The mile-long peninsula includes a shoreline and marsh that are ideal for bird watching, fishing or touring from our fleet of kayaks. A stone's throw from the lodge, the other amenities include a putting green, horseshoe pits, swimming pool, hot tub, skeet range and the lodge's Caribbean hangout, Jimbo's.
Jimbo's bar features beverages of your choice along with music, darts, and an afternoon shrimp boil. The bar, at water's edge, is located so that the guests have a front row seat to see the catch of the day being brought to the dock.
