Request More Information About This Location Dear Jeri - Manuel Lainez has over 20 years experience hosting a dove shooting program. Coupled with his many years experience as a polo player in the International Circuit, Manuel has perfected the art of gracious hosting. Manuel and his partner, Sr. Octavio Crespo (also an expert hunter and local landowner), have two estancias located approximately 60 miles north of the Cordoba International Airport. Posta Del Norte Cordoba is located in Las Penas, and La Aguada is approximately 10 miles to the south. Both of these estancias are located in the heart of the shooting fields. Upon arrival from the airport, you will enjoy the breathtaking scenery while being chauffeured to your estancia. After a brief respite and excellent lunch, you will be able to enjoy an afternoon shoot. Posta Del Norte and La Aguada offer year-round shooting. These exquisite accommodations are luxuriously comfortable and well managed by the house staff. You can relax with a good cigar and top-shelf liquor after a delicious and hearty Argentine supper. Dove and pigeon are shot all year in this region. Most shooters bring 12 or 20 gauge shotguns with changeable choke tubes. A typical full day at the estancia usually starts at 8 a.m. staying in the field with a barbecue at lunchtime, followed by an afternoon hunt until dusk. September and October are spring in Cordoba. This is considered the best time for record high-volume shooting. The days are longer and the fields are fresh and dry. The birds are located in roosts in the hills and have permanent flights to and from the feeding areas. During the summer months (November, December, January, February), due to even longer days, guests can return to the house for lunch and start the afternoon after a leisurely rest. July can be quite brisk, but usually never below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. These operations are known for their world-class wingshooting. Last season, guests shot over a million shells during the January through September shoot with an average of 36 cases per day. It should be noted that dove are considered pests in the area and there are no closed seasons or limits. Manuel’s dedicated attention and expertise, both as a hunter and a host, the high-volume shooting and the exclusive accommodations will guarantee that you will want to return year after year. The dove hunt was even better than you said it would be. The food was, well, incredible would be an understatement. I appreciate the efforts you made. Having been to Mexico and Bolivia, I was prepared for a great hunt. This hunt was fantastic…the best I have experienced.
Many thanks,
D. Floeck, Jr.
