All three picturesque rivers are teeming with game fish and, on land, Paraguay is already world renowned as the best destination for unequaled high volume pigeon and dove hunting. Now, for the first time in almost 30 years, Paraguay also offers seasons for Perdiz and Martineta. From the rivers to the fields, Paraguay waits to test your sportsman skills. Spot Winged Pigeons and Eared Doves (April - July)
Paraguay is the world's premier destination for high volume pigeons and doves from the same fields. Expect to shoot 1,000 to 2,000 shells per day at pigeons in a flock that is estimated at 8 million. Pigeons and doves multiply rapidly in the vast woodlands surrounding the agricultural communities. At harvest time, they converge in unison to cover the fields in what farmers consider plague proportions. Hunting locations are recently harvested peanut and sorghum fields. Pigeon and dove hunters are provided with a camouflaged blind, stool, bird boy and refreshments of their choice. Hunting locations are changed daily to keep the hunter in the middle of the best shooting.
Perdiz and Martineta (May - August)
Hunt eight species of Martineta and Perdiz on ranchland that is free of thorns and thick brush. Walk easily in gently rolling hills and flat terrain. You will be amazed seeing the dogs pointing birds every few minutes. The Perdiz is larger than bobwhite quail and the Martineta is a sharptail grouse sized bird. Both hold for dogs and provide superb sport. Hunting is conducted during the time of year that has 40-60 degree mornings and afternoons. New fields are hunted everyday. In addition to San Miguel, we boast about our host having over two million acres of exclusive hunting access which allows us to keep our clients "in the birds." Perdiz and Martineta can be combined with Dorado fishing or pigeon hunting.
